Frequently asked questions

What is Bilo?

Bilo is a website for finding trains, coaches and buses in Romania. Choose your route and date, view timetables, journey durations and available prices, then open the purchase option for your chosen service.

What journeys can I find on Bilo?

You can search for trains, coaches and buses on available routes in Romania. Enter your departure locality, destination and date to see the services found. Coverage varies by route and operator.

Which railway companies operate in Romania?

Rail operators on Bilo include CFR Călători, Regio Călători, Transferoviar Călători, Astra Trans Carpatic, Interregional Călători, Softrans and Ferotrafic TFI. Displayed services depend on your chosen route and date; not all operators run on every route.

How do I buy a train or bus ticket online?

Search for your route and date, choose a service and open “Route and tickets”. “Buy ticket” opens purchases on Bilo, while “Buy ticket from operator” opens the operating company's website. Available options appear in each journey's details.

How do I choose between train and bus for my journey?

Compare total duration, arrival time, price and distance to the train station or bus stop. A direct service may be more convenient than a connecting journey. On Bilo, switch between trains and buses for the same route and date to see available options.

How do I find the fastest option between two cities?

Search for your route on the desired day and sort results by duration. Services are ordered from shortest to longest journey. Connecting journey duration includes waiting time between services. You can compare both train and bus results this way.

How do I check whether there is a direct service?

Services without changes are marked “Direct” on the card. Connecting journeys show the number of changes. “Route and tickets” displays journey legs and the stops where you change.

Where exactly does the train or bus depart from?

The departure station or stop name appears on the journey card beside the departure time. “Route and tickets” also lists journey stops, including interchanges and the arrival stop. City searches may include several associated stations or stops.

How do I find a cheaper train journey?

Select “Trains” and sort results by price. Services with an available fare are ordered from lowest to highest price. Cards also show the operator, duration and number of changes so you can compare cost with travel time.

How do I compare bus ticket prices?

Search for your route, select “Buses” and sort by price. Results with available fares are ordered from lowest to highest. Each service shows the company, times, duration and departure and arrival stops.

Why do prices differ between services on the same route?

Each operator sets its own fares. Train prices may also vary by category and class. A connecting journey may involve fares for multiple legs. Two options between the same cities can therefore have different prices.
